Shri Gulab Singh is an elected MLA from Matiala Vidhan Sabha constituency. Matiala Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 70 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the National Capital of Delhi. Shri Gulab Singh was first elected by the people of Matiala constituency in 2015 and was due to his deligence and connect with the people of his constituency was again elected in the year 2020.
Matiala constituency (AC34) lies in the South West part of NCR. As per the data of 2020 there are a total of 7 wards with a total of 424,924 electorates distributed among a total of 367 polling stations. The entire constituency has a unique mix of people coming from various walks of life across the country. Shri Gulab Singh had played a pivotal role in making his constituency free of the private tankers who were supplying water to various areas. The residents of the constituency had issues with the way the private tankers were operating. The issue was addressed in a two pronged manner by deploying water tankers of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and laying new water pipelines. This has provided great relief to the residents of Matiala constituency. Because of this not only the supply of water improved in the entire Matiala constituency but the quality of water being supplied also improved by manifolds.
In 2019, Delhi Government lead by Aam Admi Party allocated INR 7,485 cr for the health sector which included setting up of 189 additional Mohalla Clinics. Taking the lead on this, Shri Gulab Singh had increased the number of Mohalla Clinics in Matiala constituency from an earlier number of 11 to 37 such clinics. He has been regularly monitoring the quality of services being offered in these clinics and have been taking stern action in case any shortcomings are discovered in these clinics. Lot of people are getting benefitted from these Aam Admi Mohalla Clinics as free treatment and medicines are being to people from all walks of life.
